David Goodwill - Driver

David started racing shortly after graduating from the U.S.C. School of Dentistry. His first race car was a twin engine go-cart. He raced this for about three years before quitting to spend more time with his two young daughters. In 1994 it was time to go racing again and DDS Racing was formed. The team began racing a 600cc modified midget. In 1998 David was asked to move up and drive a BCRA midget lite for car owner John Gudgell. This move was met with  great success as David won the 1998 BCRA midget lite Rookie of the Year and the Championship in the same year. In 1999 John suffered a serious illness, and later in the year David was asked to drive for Ted Hunting Motorsports; again with BCRA. In 2001 DDS Racing decided to begin racing 360 non-wing sprint cars. Again, winning the All Pro Racing Series Rookie of the Year. In 2004 it was to travel and the team joined NCMA. David and the DDS Racing team won the dirt track championship.

David is supported by his family, especially his lovely wife Suzie. Suzie not only looks after most things at home, she is an integral part of the DDS Racing Team. She also works at the dental office as a registered dental assistant (RDA).

A patient of David's once told him that he was a Dentist by day and a Racer by night. So either come by the office and see Dr. Goodwill during the day, or see the Flying Dentist at night look for that next win.

 

Don Kiser - Crew Chief

Don started out going to the races and helping since the early days of the 600cc modified midget. When the DDS Racing Team decided to race sprint cars Don became the crew chief of the 3G sprinter. Don's tireless efforts, hard work, dedication, and attention to detail is a key to the success of DDS Racing. Besides the daily responsibilities of maintaining and preparing the race car, Don calls all the shots once we get to the racetrack. His personal presence and enthusiasm is an inspiration to us all. Rest assured, with Don's efforts the 3G sprinter shows up at the track prepared and ready to win. Don is married to his lovely and very understanding wife Jan. He just recently retired from Caltrans after 42 years! Don retired as the North Bay regional manager. Over his distinguished career he had received many awards including special recognition by three different governors! Way to go Don.
 

Mike Shepherd - Crew

Mike joined the DDS Racing Team in 2001. He had been involved with sprint car years ago but when he heard about the 3G sprinter he just had to lend a hand. Mike's duties are many. Besides all the mechanical aspects of preparing and maintaining the car, he is also responsible for promotion and sponsorships. Mike does and excellent job. During the day, Mike works for the Napa County Road Department.

 

Dewayne Herbert - Crew

Dewayne has been with DDS Racing since the beginning. He was the crew chief for the 600cc modified midget, and he has worked on every race car since. The DDS Racing Team would not exist without Dewayne's hard work, dedication and generosity. Dewayne is married to his lovely wife Cory. Cory also happens to work at the dental office as a registered dental assistance (RDA). Dewayne is the Napa Valley's distributor for Matco Tools.

 

Scott Hankins - Crew

Scott joined the DDS Racing Team in 2002. he was involved with boat racing for many years until bitten by the sprint car bug. Scott is in charge of team publicity. He is a free lance writer and submits articles to various publications including The Napa Register.
